1) What (who) brought you to Industrious?
Jeanne, my wife, found out about CrossFit, specifically Industrious, through her work at Premera. She had brought it up several times, but I did not give it much attention. I enjoy running and felt like that was enough for me. After a couple of weeks, she said she was going and I agreed to join her for boot camp. I was hooked.
2) What is the most significant change you have experienced since you have been here? How long have you been a member?
After the first couple of months, I started tracking my performance. It is absolutely amazing to look back at where I started. The increase of what I am capable of doing now compared to where I started is astonishing. I have almost increased every lift I do by 100%. I feel more confident in my movements and feel like I can push myself further. This confidence lends itself in my daily life. I am more poised when I lift objects and have greater capacity to engage in physical life. I started back in April of 2012.
3) What is your favorite thing about Industrious?
Without question the community! When I tell people about my experience with CrossFit it is hard to relay how supportive everyone is. I never considered myself an athlete and when I started I was at a very basic level. Regardless of my skill, strength or technique I was cheered on, pumped up and supported. This environment pushes me to work harder than I ever thought I could.
4) What are your goals or aspirations for this year?
I would love to be able to do a handstand walk and PR my clean and jerk.
5) Share one thing we do NOT know about you!
Dylan is a souvenir from my presidents club in Las Vegas 16 years ago. Not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
