1) What (who) brought you to Industrious?
I was always a CrossFit hater, but I would drive past Industrious every day on my way home from work and always thought to myself that it looked like a cool place and that if I ever decided to try CrossFit, it would be at Industrious. Adelina did CrossFit before me and she did a couple of classes here and loved the environment. She talked me into trying a workout one day, and I loved it! My plan was to workout at Industrious a couple of times a week and workout at a regular gym for the rest of the week. That lasted less than a month, when I started going to Industrious every day!
2) What is the most significant change you have experienced since you have been here?
I have a new perspective on what being fit means. I used to think that being fit meant being as big as possible. Since I have always been lean, I often felt out of shape. I now see being functionally fit and athletic as being in shape, and through working out at Industrious I feel as though I have transformed more into that! Physically I have grown muscles in places that I never used to have them. (I used to skip leg day all the time lol)
3) What is your favorite thing about Industrious?
I love the community. All of the people at Industrious feel like family! Every day I look forward to coming in and working out with all of my buddies! Even when I have a bad day, it seems that coming into Industrious has a way of fixing everything! I also love that it’s a community that Adelina and I can be a part of together, and a place that we can have a fun, friendly competition with each other on a daily basis!
4) What are your goals or aspirations for this year?
My gym goals for the year are to continuously improve and become stronger. I feel like I need the most work on the gymnastics aspect of CrossFit such as muscle ups, butterfly pull-ups and handstand push ups, so I would like to become more proficient in those movements. I would also like to compete in a couple of local competitions as a team just for fun.
